Right now, the Parklet gets pretty hot in the spring and summer. While volunteers work on little projects to transform this space, a place to cool down could make their work easier. Many cities have installed umbrellas as a colorful way to shade streets and parks. Installing “floating” umbrellas would create some much needed cover, and define the space. Umbrellas would be supported by cables and strung between the swinging bridge stanchions over the Parklet. We could also string lights using these cables, to light up the Parkway at night!
