Grant Writing 101 Workshop @ Center for Rural Development

Building your grant writing skills is one of the first steps toward helping to achieve funding for your organization.

If you are a first-time grant writer or want to know more about the grant writing process, The Center for Rural Development is hosting a Grant Writing 101 workshop to provide the essential skills needed to write a grant proposal from start to finish.

Grant Writing 101 will provide grant writers with the basic skills to locate grant opportunities and to plan and write compelling grant proposals. We will also look at some of the common pitfalls and fatal flaws made while writing grant proposals.

About your instructor: Melissa Vermillion has been a grant writer for Hazard Community and Technical College since 2010. Currently, she is director of grants and contracts. Vermillion has successful written grant applications to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Endowment of the Arts, Appalachian Regional Commission, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HRSA), the Department of Education TRIO Programs, and several private funders.
