When: Saturday, April 14 – 8am – Noon (Mountain Shrine Club)
The Letcher County Amateur Radio Club will host the 2018 Hamfest. Once again we would love to see our friends, neighbors, and fellow hams join us for a day or swapping, selling, and rag chewing. If you have someone who is interested in ham radio but not yet licensed, get them to study the Technician level on https://hamstudy.org/ and then bring them over for testing that day. We hope like last year to have hams from across the state and out state in attendance. See flyer below for additional details.
There are several other things to do for the day, once the Hamfest is over. If you like hiking be sure to check out Bad Branch Falls, just about a 20 minute drive from the Hamfest. Take a drive across the historic Little Shepard’s Trail, views that are absolutely breath taking. Enjoy one of our new overlooks on Pine Mountain. Letcher County Tourism can help with any of the above. Try one of our great local restaurant such as Heritage Kitchen, The Thirsty Heifer, pine mountain grill and gifts or Prime 606 Steakhouse. Take a tour and sample some of our locally made moonshine from Kentucky Mist Distillery located in beautiful downtown Whitesburg. So come and enjoy the day with us in Letcher County.
We have door prizes donated by MFJ Enterprises Inc., R and L Electronics, and GigaParts Huntsville. Our main door prize is a TYT TH9000D 220 MHz Transceiver.
