Autism Parent Workshop: Strategies for success @ Letcher County Public Library
Sep 5 @ 9:00 am – 3:45 pm

Educators, parents, and administrators are invited and will leave this regional workshop with materials in hand to transform their environment to meet the needs of children and pre-teens with autism. Participants will begin the day looking at the red flags for autism and addressing the needs associated with the triad of characteristics of children and pre-teens with autism. Strategies based in evidence-based practices will be discussed in the context of everyday situations. Join us in this interactive workshop at the beautiful Jenny Wiley State Park.

-Characteristic of Autism
-Behavior Basics
-Evidence Based Practices for Teaching New Skills
-Resources and Where to Turn for Support

Learning objectives
-Participants will recognize the red flags of autism and the triad of characteristics.
-Participants will leave with resources and materials to support children and pre-teens with autism.
-Participants will be exposed to evidence based practices for children and pre-teens with autism and be able to implement 1 of them in their setting.
